IT'S TIME! PLEASE SHARE!

Okay Gang,

It's time to rise to the occasion.

Shelby County DHR's Project Sunshine and visitation room renovation is exactly three weeks away.

We CANNOT and ARE NOT meant to do this alone! Will you partner with us?

How you can help:

1. With only 7 days until my BIG BLOG BIRTHDAY PARTY, it's the perfect day to donate your $7! Over 1,500 people have read my birthday party post. If only 100 of those would be willing to donate $7, that would be $700, and we would reach our goal! But, feel free to donate more if you would like!

Tax-deductible donations can be done online at The Forgotten Initiative, or checks can be sent to made out to Lifesong for Orphans and sent to :

The Forgotten Initiative
PO Box 40
Gridley, IL 61744

**For all donations, please mark #97505, Shelby County in the memo line.

Non-deductible donations can be sent directly to our paypal account at jlumpkin@stoneandsons.com.

2. DONATION TIME! We are in urgent need as we prepare of the following:

~ Appropriate board games for all ages
~ Cards games
~ DURABLE toys: Melissa and Doug, Brio, Thomas
~ Crayons and colored pencils (and LOTS of them)
~ Coloring books, sticker books, etc.
~ Family-Appropriate DVD's
~ Any other fun, engaging items you can find to delight children
~ Target Gift Cards
~ A 30-inch flat screen black TV
~ Books!
~ Would love to find a durable toy kitchen

** Gently used items are okay, but please use discretion. These must be in good shape. All toys will literally be played with by hundreds of children.

I am willing to meet you for donations, or you can also have them sent directly to my home. Simply message me at cafranktie@aol.com.

Please share! Shelby County DHR is overwhelmed at the body of Christ's willingness to come forward and love this way.

Seven days until my birthday, and I know 34 will be the best one yet because of you!

Because of Jesus,

  1. Hey, Catie! I saw your post on Homewood Trading, which led me here. This sounds like a great project for our Sunday school class to contribute to. We are made up of mostly young families with small children, so we have lots of gently used games, puzzles, DVDs, etc. Can you contact me and let me know how to get these to you. I will probably need a couple of weeks to get the things together. We have a big missions conference at church this week that is pretty much consuming all of our attention right now. Thanks so much!

  2. I have bought some crayons, colored pencils, coloring books, etc. I will take to the Lifeline office. Thank you for your blog... I enjoy reading. I am currently going through foster care classes through Lifeline. Looking forward to where God leads.
